How To Get There
By Car
The quickest cross channel ferry crossing is Folkestone-Calaise via the Eurotunnel. The crossing takes approximately 35 minutes and is very quick and efficient.
Motorways in France are toll roads, and the return journey between Calais and the apartment costs approximately £60.00, depending on exchange rates.
From Calais take the A26 towards Arras, St Quentin & Reims. At Chalons sur Mame, head towards Troyes and Langres then Dijon. From Dijon head towards Macon and just before Lyon take the A46 towards Chambery. This takes you round the East side of Lyon and on to the motorway into the Alps. From Chambery head to Albertville, then Moutiers. After Moutier you will head towards Aime and on towards Bourg St. Maurice.Look out for a sign and turning to Landry on your right. Take this turn and go over the bridge and railway line. You will come to a cross roads and continue on straight up towards Vallandry. You will pass through Peisey Nancroix on the way. A little after you come out of Peisey the road bends round to the left and then comes to a junction with a left turn to Vallandry and if you continued on the main road would eventually come to Roseul. Take the road to Vallandry. As you come up the hill you will see the tourist office on the right, turn immediately left into Vallandry. Continue down the road and Balcons du Vallandry is on your left. If you reach Le Dahu you have gone too far. The apartment is on the lower floor.
From Calais, the journey is approximately 600 miles and takes roughly 9 - 10 hours. Watch for the radar speed traps - you have to pay cash for any on the spot fines and the French Police do not take credit cards. Remember the upper speed limit is 80mph on French motorways.
